Radius of Action exhibited at Of the River and Other Stories, part of Powerful Tides – 400 Years of Chatham and the Sea, Curated by Jean Wainwright, 2018.
Radius of Action utilises photography, performance and the contract to explore the at times absurd relationship of mind and body within the disabled body. For this exhibition my father and I used our bodies to map the Thames' route from Chatham Dockyard to it's tributary source by undertaking a number of journeys in our wheelchairs. Stopping only when one of us could go no further, photographs document the end-points of each journey, presented alongside a hand-drawn route and signed contract binding us to the activity.
